“We're nearly at the end now, and face two difficult away matches. I hope we can finish as high in the League as possible and achieve our goals. We're focusing on each match as we go, and relying on ourselves, without thinking about other teams' results. It'll be a tough match against Barcelona, one of the best teams in world football, especially on their own turf. We've shown we're capable of playing tough teams, like we did at the Bernabéu. Barcelona always go out on the pitch determined to win, and their players are used to victory. I hope we can come home with some points, hopefully three”.
My season
“I've played in midfield a lot this season. I don't know what the coach will decide, I've got no problem with playing in midfield at all. We're at the point of achieving what we set out to do at the beginning of the season, and this is such a strong motivation for us, and gives us strength in every match. We've not had long to prepare for this game, and the coach is looking at the best way possible for us to go out there tomorrow. With regard to scoring goals, I had a rough patch in the middle of the season, but I was determined to score more goals, and I did it. I'm not focusing on the number of fouls, what's important is that I help the team move up the League”.
Monreal and Isco
“Nacho really wants to get to the Eurocopa, and Del Bosque knows Isco well, and is having an excellent season and hopes to play for Spain in the future. I also would love to keep representing my country, and therefore need to keep playing well”.
Current situation
“Our rivals will be there till the end. Levante is playing well, and we need to play a good game against Atlético. With regards to injuries, it's always hard to lose good players, but the team has overcome these problems throughout the season, which has been a key factor in our continued fight to qualify for Champions. The fans were great in our match against Valencia. They knew how important the match was for us to get to Champions, and they really got behind us and supported us from the start”.
