Samuel García comes home

The versatile attacker returns to Málaga CF following a loan agreement with Levante UD for the remainder of the 2017/18 season. The Club has an option to buy Samuel, that will be executed if a series of clauses between both sides are met.

This morning Samu passed the medical at Vithas Salud Rincón Medical Center Rosaleda, and subsequently underwent solitary training at the gym in the Ciudad de Málaga stadium.

Development and first team

Samuel García Sánchez was born 27 years ago in Málaga, and after completing his training period as a player in the youth categories, he joined Atlético Malagueño from CD Alhaurino, in Third Division Group IX. In that category, either as a centre forward or second striker, he was an indispensable part of the reserve team between 2010 and 2013.

In the 2013/14 season, he moved up to the first team, scoring 4 goals in 27 LaLiga games. The following season, Samu consolidated his place as a right-winger in the starting-11, scoring another 5 goals in 32 League clashes. His technique and quality made him a very valued player for the fans, particularly due to his ability to score beautiful goals, and in decisive moments of play.

Career outside Málaga

His footballing progression led to Villarreal CF signing him in 2015/16. He later tried his luck with Russian outfit, Rubin Kazan in 2016/17, although he returned to Spain to take part in the second round of the competition with CD Leganés. This 2017/18 season he played the first part with Levante UD, accumulating a total of 15 games between LaLiga (11) and Copa del Rey (4).
