Rondón left at the gates of the Copa America final with Venezuela
The Championship final will be played in Argentina will take place this Sunday between Paraguay and Uruguay.
Málaga forward José Salomón Rondón and the Venezuelan squad were left at the gates and will not take part in the Copa America final after the ‘vinotinto’ was eliminated in the semifinals by Paraguay in the penalty shootout. In spite of the Venezuelan outfit, managed by César Farías, having more control of the ball it was unable to score and after extra time the game remained 0-0. In the penalty shootout, in which Rondón did not take part, the ‘guarani’ goalkeeper Justo Villar was decisive and tipped the balance in favour of the Paraguay squad that managed to get into the finals without winning a game. Rondón was a starter and played the entire semifinal.
