It wasn’t to be. The fate of the penalties prevented the dream of MCF Academy juvenil defender, Álex Robles becoming under-17s European champion. In today’s final held at the Baku Olympic Stadium (Azerbaijan), in the XV edition of the under-17s European Championships, the result was 1-1 between Spain and Portugal at the end of normal time. Portugal went on to defeat Santi Denia’s side by 5-4 on penalties.
Álex Robles played at a great level in the three matches within the first round, as well as the quarter-finals, semi-finals and the final, fully competing in each of Spain’s six games.
