Portuguese-born Ricardo Horta joins Málaga CF

Málaga Club de Fútbol and Vitoria de Setúbal have reached an agreement for young player, Ricardo Jorge da Luz Horta (Sobreda, Portugal, 15/09/1994) to join the Blue and Whites for the next five seasons, until 2018/19. The Portuguese international represented his country in the youth categories, and last season scored seven First Division goals in Portugal.

Career
Ricardo Horta started his career in the youth tanks of Lisbon’s SL Benfica, before joining Vitorica de Setúbal and making his First Division debut on 7th April 2013 at just 18 years of age.  Following this, and playing six matches towards the end of the season (2013/14), the young player made it to Portugal’s national team, taking part in 34 League and Cup matches, scoring seven goals.

The young Portuguese-born player is one of the upcoming stars of his country, playing with the under-19s, under-20s and under-21s.  With the under-21s he took part in the World Youth Festival in Tulon, one of the most prestigious tournaments of promising football talent, in which he scored three goals in five matches.
