Peñaranda reinforces the Málaga CF attack

Venezuelan international, Adalberto Peñaranda will be loaned out to Málaga CF for this 2016/17 campaign, with an extendable loan for next season. The striker arrives from Watford FC, following a spell with Udinese Calcio, and will be presented tomorrow at 13:00 at La Rosaleda stadium.

Born in Mérida (Venezuela) on 31st May 1997 (19 years old), Adalberto Peñaranda Maestre is a right-footed striker, measuring 1.85 metres in height, and weighing 78 kilos, who started his professional career with Venezuelan side, Deportivo La Guaira. In the summer of 2015, he joined Udinese Calcio, and he was subsequently loaned out to Granada CF, where he scored five goals.  At 18 years and 195 days old, Peñaranda became the youngest foreigner to score a double in LaLiga, with two goals in Granada’s 1-2 victory against Levante. His strong performance with Granada sparked the attention of English club, Watford FC.  In mid-2016, the Premier League side loaned him out to Udinese Calcio.


Peñaranda, an international with Venezuela’s first team, made his debut with his country on 24th March 2016. The striker, who has taken part in a total of 11 games with the ‘Vinotinto’ side, was called-up by coach, Rafael Dudamel for the Copa América Centenario, held in the United States, where he coincided with Malaguistas; Roberto Rosales, Juanpi Añor and Mikel Villanueva.
