Pellicer - We can’t wait for the first day of competition
The coach analysed the Primera Federación match calendar. The first clash is against CD Castellón: “We’re going to come up against two historic clubs in this category that will be tremendously difficult,” he commented.
Málaga CF now knows the match calendar for Primera RFEF 23/24. Coach, Sergio Pellicer, reviewed the configuration of the matches to MCFTV. The first duel is in Castalia against CD Castellón: “We’re preparing the work with the hope it’ll start on the first day of competition. We find ourselves up against a historic club. Also, personally it’s my home province. This is a club with a good project, this year they’ve been two goals away from being promoted and not long ago we were both competing in LaLiga SmartBank. We’re going to come up against two historic clubs in this category that will be tremendously difficult,” he explained.
Knowing the calendar helps the coaching staff to better outline the summer preparation: “It already makes us work on the calendar, on the rivals and their analyses, but the most important thing is to do our job, create a group, all get together and get excited from the start,” he stated.
The first and last home games in the competition are against the reserve teams of Atlético de Madrid and Real Madrid: “The reserve teams are very powerful, but we have to focus on ourselves. We have to do things well, knowing that wearing the Málaga shield gives us an extra bonus,” he added.
For this category, mental strength is key. The coach comments: “We have to be very strong on a mental level, it’s not the same playing in other stadiums as it is at La Rosaleda. As from tomorrow we’ll be training here. We have to work on all aspects now as an extremely tough competition awaits us,” he concluded.
