Pablo: “Home grown players can fulfil their dreams at Málaga”

The young player has been big news this season, and talks about his current form during his first press conference.

Pablo debuted at the Santiago Bernabéu in the starting-11; played against Real Sociedad; and was again in the initial line-up at Mestalla.  Despite his age, the home grown player from the academy looks to have found his place on Javi Gracia’s team.  However, Pablo Fornals remains cautious with his role on the team: “Having taken part in three First Division matches I’m more than happy.  If I get the chance to play more, that’d be fantastic, if not I’ve got no problem with returning to the reserve team.”

For those within the youth ranks, a home grown player who debuts with the first team always sets an example: “Last season we looked up to Castillejo and Juanpi, and wanted to accomplish the same success they had, and this year it’s my turn.  You can see that with this coach the dreams of every young player can be fulfilled,” explains Pablo.

With regards to his teammates, Pablo says: “They all take great care of me, for which I’m very thankful.  It’s a dream for me to be here, I admire Camacho, and there’s some fantastic players on this squad.  I’m extremely pleased to share every day with them.”

Pablo was in the starting-11 for the second time in Valencia: “It’s difficult to leave satisfied when you lose.  I did what I was asked to do, and I think I did OK, however you’re never happy when you lose,” says the player following the defeat at Mestalla.

“It’s wonderful playing football at La Rosaleda.  I love how the fans sing and get behind us, it’s a stadium that lives and breathes football.  We now need to get out of this rut, and there’s no better place to do it than at our home ground,” says Pablo about Málaga CF’s next match against Deportivo de la Coruña.
