Ochoa and Charles visit Children’s Maternity Hospital

The Blue and Whites’ players visited the Haematology-Oncology ward of the Children’s Maternity Hospital bearing gifts for the young patients.

Málaga CF, via its Foundation, and in collaboration with the Spanish Association against Cancer, organised the traditional visit by the first team footballers to the Haematology-Oncology ward of the Children’s Maternity Hospital.  This year the visit coincided with World Children’s Cancer Day today, 15th February.  Ochoa and Charles presented the children with gifts including a Málaga CF first team shirt and a ‘Boquerón’ teddy bear.  Both players had a great time with the boys and girls, who enjoyed a wonderful day.

Present at the event were Hilario López Cano on behalf of the Hospital’s management team; Rosalía Cortés, president of the AECC Social Action Committee; Coral García Peláez, AECC Psychologist at the Children’s Maternity Hospital; Sebastián Fernández Reyes, from the MCF Foundation’s Social Department; and the rest of the medical team on the Haematology-Oncology ward.

At the end of the morning, Mexican goalkeeper, Guillermo Ochoa spoke to MCFTV: “This brings you down to earth, takes you back to reality and reminds you of the things that are really important.”

Also, Charles adds that being a father “fills you with pride attending events like this; to see the children and their parents smiling.”  The players then posed for a group photo with the Hospital staff.
