COVID-19 brings with it an imminent global economic crisis that is beginning to affect many Spanish families. Not surprisingly, organisations dedicated to distributing food to citizens are suffering with serious supply problems, as the number of requests for help has risen four-fold in recent weeks. On numerous occasions, CaixaBank and Obra Social la Caixa have shown their commitment to situations of social emergency, and this time is no different. Both entities have started the ‘No home without food’ project, aiming to help guarantee the distribution of basic foodstuffs to those in need.
Within the first month, 16,000 donors have cooperated with this initiative, including exceptional collaborators such as Malaguista, Antonio Banderas. Counting the amount allocated by CaixaBank, the collection has already hit two million euros.
