Nerja scores the first point of the ‘Malaguistas to the Core’ season

Nerja puts down roots in La Rosaleda. The Axarquía municipality was the first to attend the Malaguista stadium, inaugurating the 2022/23 season of 'Malaguistas to the Core’.

The tourist town on the Costa del Sol, Nerja has an area of 85 square kilometres with a population of over 20,000 inhabitants. There we can find unique enclaves such as the Balcón de Europa, a beautiful viewpoint with the best views of the Mediterranean Sea and the Nerja Caves, with spectacular rock formations, archaeological sites and cave paintings.

From this beautiful town, two hours before #MálagaGranada kicked off, a bus journeyed the 56 kilometres to Martiricos, complete with an excited group of players from the CD Nerja Football School in the Alevín and Infantil categories, as well as the women's team.

From their arrival at La Rosaleda, until kick-off, they were able to enjoy the team warm-up from their location in the upper part of Tribuna with Fondo Norte area, dressed in the Blue and White shirt they donned inside the venue.

During the match, they cheered on the Malaguista team non-stop and celebrated Rubén Castro's stunning goal that put Pepe Mel's team in the lead, in a game that ended in a 1-1 draw.

Representing the town from the institutions were Nerja Councillor for Business, Francisco Javier López Navas, sitting in the ‘palco de autoridades’ during the #MálagaGranada clash, along with the Nerja Town Hall press officer.

The expedition enjoyed the atmosphere at La Rosaleda, with the fans always behind the team on such a rainy night.

Nerja once again helped us to score points at the Martiricos stadium. Last season, in October, they enjoyed the experience of being 'Malaguistas to the Core' when Málaga CF beat CD Lugo 1-0, with a goal from Genaro.
