José Ignacio González Sáenz, born in Vitoria (Álava) on 29th July 1966 is the new Málaga CF coach. A contrasted manager with notable experience in LaLiga SmartBank, he arrived in the silver division following the promotion from 2ªB with Deportivo Alavés in the 13/14 season. Three years later, he repeated the feat with CF Reus (16/17). His great performance led him to the Real Zaragoza dugout, with the team ending the 17/18 season in third place, and then he moved to RC Deportivo de la Coruña, ending his relationship with the team in promotion playoffs (18/19).
He now arrives at Málaga following two international experiences, with CD Tondela in Portugal’s First Division (Primeira Liga) and Club Bolívar in La Liga de Fútbol Profesional Boliviano.
Natxo González will head up his first training session tomorrow, taking the reins of the Blue and White first team ahead of the upcoming league match against CD Mirandés.
