Monreal: “There’s been eleven league matches and the team is in European positions”
Malaguista defender, Nacho Monreal, this Monday morning spoke to the media in the Ciudad de Málaga stadium’s press room.
Monreal’s statements:
(Betis-Málaga). “It was a game that left a bittersweet taste. It wasn’t as good as we would’ve liked; defensively we were very good even though the team could’ve given a little more and been more ambitious, in the sense that all of us an individuals could’ve given more to get the three points. There’s a margin for improvement, in that we can all give a little more, but it’s a long-term project and little by little we’ll achieve the results and play better. The game was played correctly and we’ve got to continue like that.”
(Analysis of the season). “There have been some games better than others, but there’s margin for improvement and in time it’ll all come together. There’s been eleven league matches and the team is in European positions. To rush things would be a mistake, everything has a process and the important and not-so important players will give more throughout the season.”
(Personal). “I’m feeling pretty good right now. The beginning was tough but now, after these two games, I’m feeling at ease and happy. Now there’s this stoppage and we’ll strengthen ourselves in these two weeks. We’ll all train to the max.”
(Unity). “At the end of the day the most important thing is that the team and the fans are united because it’ll be a lot easier to win the war together. There are times when we’re all on the same journey.”
(Spain selection). “You always look, I’m interested to see if I could go, now there’s another call-up, and it’d be great of Santi (Cazorla) and I could be part of that.”
