Monreal: “I’m feeling good”

Málaga CF’s Monreal held a press conference at the Ciudad de Málaga Athletics Stadium, before today’s training session.

“It wasn’t really a great match for us.  The conditions weren’t right, and the pitch was in a bad state with a lot of mud everywhere which made it very difficult to play good football.  The end result was fair I think, with two goals from set pieces for both teams.  We performed as well as we could and we’re happy with the result.”

“We’re really looking forward to the match against Real Madrid.  We’ve got a good dynamic at the moment, we’re playing here at home, and are aware that Real Madrid aren’t having their best time right now.  However, despite everything, they’re a powerful team and will give us a very tough match.  I hope we make the most of every goal opportunity and keep the three points at home.”

“I lost a lot of rhythm following my injury, but I’m improving little by little and trying my best to help the team as much as possible.  I’m feeling good.”

“The fans really are fantastic.  The stadium is full for every match and they’re always behind us, supporting us through everything.  We all appreciate them so much.”

“We can’t wait until tomorrow’s draw, to see who our next Champions League rival will be.  We haven’t really got any preference, as at this level, every team is going to be a strong opponent, so we need to be as prepared as possible.”
