Midfielder Manuel Iturra returns to Málaga CF

The Chilean player is back following his previous stage with the team in the Champions League, and signs for the remainder of the season plus one more.

Chilean-born midfielder, Manuel Rolando Iturra Urrutia (23/06/84, Temuco, Chile) arrives from Mexican side, Necaxa, where he was in the starting line-up for all the First Division games this season in Mexico. The midfielder will bring his experience and role of a defence specialist to the core of the team.

Iturra returns to Málaga CF following a stage to remember at the Blue and Whites’ Club. The Chilean player was key in the Champions League year, forming a partnership in midfield with Jeremy Toulalan. A duo that put on superb performances, such as the Group Stage clash of the European competition against AC Milan, in which Iturra masterfully assisted Joaquín to score the victory goal for the Blue and Whites.

Another of his memorable moments was the draw at Camp Nou against FC Barcelona (2-2) in the Copa del Rey, in which the Chilean converted the first goal to put the Malaguistas in the lead.

International with Chile

Manuel Iturra debuted at just 21 years of age with the Chilean national team, and subsequently defended his country’s jersey on 34 occasions in qualifying rounds for the World Cup and Copa America.

Welcome back, Colocho!
