Match preview: Valencia-Málaga

Málaga CF visit Mestalla to take on Valencia CF in the 14th LaLiga Santander match of the 2016/17 season. Iglesias Villanueva will officiate the match that kicks off on Sunday 4 December at 8.45 p.m.

  • The first Valencia CF-Málaga CF. Season 1999/00, 29th match of the league. 18th March 2000, Valencia, under the orders of Héctor Cúper, sixth on the table, received 11-placed Málaga. Basque-born Iturralde González officiated the match that ended in a 2-2 result, with goals from Angulo (51’ and 67’) from the host side and Catanha (60’ and 89’ - penalty) from the Malaguistas. Peiró’s startting eleven were Contreras; Rojas, Fernando Sanz, Larrainzar, Valcarce; Ruano (Musampa 77’), De los Santos, Movilla (Sandro 77’), Rufete; Darío Silva (Alberto Luque 77’) y Catanha.
  • Duda and the retired Albelda are the players who have most played (8 times) a Valencia-MCF match in the Liga. The Valencian, Soldado, is the best striker (5 goals) in relation to the 15 matches placyed between both clubs at Mestalla.
