The Blue and Whites, in 18th place with 10 points, will come up against 7th placed Athletic Club with 20 points. Last season, with referee, Álvarez Izquierdo in charge, Málaga drew in League competition against Athletic at San Mamés. It was the 20th game of the 2014/15 season, and ended in a 1-1 draw, with a local goal from San José and Javi Guerra for the ‘Malaguistas’.
Since 1999, both clubs have faced each other 30 times in official matches (League and Cup), with a completely even scoresheet: 10 victories, 10 draws and 10 defeats for each side. MCF won twice at the old San Mamés stadium.
