Malaguismo tree planting within ‘Pulmón Malaguista’ initiative

Málaga CF, via the Foundation’s Social Department, carried out a tree planting day in Coín.

The activity, under the name ‘Pulmón Malaguista’ and within the Club’s sustainable ‘Malaguistas por Naturaleza’ brand, was sponsored by Cervezas San Miguel, in collaboration with Diputación Provincial de Málaga, Autocares Vázquez Olmedo and PROAMB, an association that regularly gives environmental workshops to our Supercapacitad@s Football School.

The Malaguista tree-planting day was attended by the Provincial Deputy for the Environment and Sports at the Diputación de Málaga, Cristóbal Ortega; the Mayor of Coín, Francisco Santos; and a large Blue and White representation headed up by judicial administrator José María Muñoz.

First team player, Javi Jiménez and MCF Femenino players Andrea Ríos, Clo, Futu and Silvia Mérida, as well as Málaga Genuine team members, took part in the initiative between 11:00 and 17:00.

In addition, representatives from the winning social entities at the MCF Foundation’s 5th #SiempreFuerte Awards were present, including INPAVI, Debra Piel de Mariposa and the Fundación César Ramírez Bisturí Solidario, as well as Paco Ráez, in memory of his son. Also, a group of 10 season ticket holders were in attendance, who after winning a contest to participate in this activity, enjoyed an unforgettable day with their family.

“It’s a true honour to take part in this tree planting day,” commented Alberto Jiménez (PROAMB) to MCFTV. Lucas Rodríguez, MCF Foundation coordinator, said it was “a very gratifying experience” planting the trees. “The reforestation of 300 species is something fundamental,” said Javi Jiménez. Antonio Miranda, Blue and White season ticket holder, showed his “satisfaction at being able to participate with the Club at these events.” Alejandra López, also a season ticket holder, said “I’ve already done” one of the three things you should do in life, the others being write a book and have a child. Francisco Santos, the Mayor of Coín, talked about the “perfect combination” of the union between sport and the environment. And finally, Cristóbal Ortega, stressed the importance of “Málaga getting closer to the province and the Club undertaking these initiatives is praiseworthy.”

What a wonderful day in such an idyllic place like Coín, highlighting the Entity's commitment to the environment and the province.
