Atlético Malagueño were beaten by Mancha Real by 1-0 on Sunday, although they’re still in the top spot of Third Division Group IX.
At one of the most difficult grounds in the Division, Josep Clotet’s team struggled in the first half on the smaller pitch with a synthetic surface that proved to be a clear advantage to the local side. Mancha Real kept the pressure on the visitors during the first 30 minutes, preventing a true attacking display by the Blue and Whites. Mancha Real’s superiority was converted into a goal by Alberto after 31 minutes.
Things changed in the second half, and Atlético Malagueño began to dominate the match, with a lot more speed and pressure on the rival. Despite taking control of the game after half-time, Clotet’s boys were unable to equalise. However, they’re still group leaders on goal average.
