‘Malagember’, one month unbeaten in LaLiga

4 games without a loss in LaLiga and 8 out of a possible 12 points. Málaga finished November with two wins at home and a well-deserved draw in Barcelona and have kicked off December with another point at Mestalla.

The team has notched up in the league a historic streak of five straight victories at La Rosaleda, and have also got two consecutive draws against big name rivals, FC Barcelona and Valencia CF. Last month they did the famous ‘media inglesa’ by scoring one point away and three at home. In addition, in the last two months of LaLiga Santander, Juande Ramos’ lads have scored in 7 out of the 8 matches played (15 out of 24 possible points).

November will be remembered for the double comeback at home against Sporting (3-2) and Deportivo (4-3) in the last moments of the games, showing strength and ability to fight until the end – something that was also demonstrated at Camp Nou in a game that ended 0-0 against the current league champions.

December has begun with a 2-2 in the Valencia-Málaga match, which has historically been a tricky for the Malaguistas in terms of scoring.

It’s also worth highlighting Málaga’s scoring ability. They’ve managed 23 goals in 14 matches (1.64 on average), delivered by 13 players, with Sandro the best scorer with six goals, making him the second ‘pichichi’ in the national championship together with Betis’ Rubén and only behind Celto de Vigo’s Iago Aspas.
