Málaga CF win the First Division ‘Fair Play’ title for 2011-12

Málaga Club de Fútbol is the winner of the Fair Play award for the 2011-12 season with 91 points, tied with FC Barcelona.

This award, established by the RFEF in 1998, recognises the least penalized team in the League Championship.  A yellow card is worth one point, red card two points, and a player being sent off is three points.

This is the first time Málaga has won this award in the First Division.  However they won the title in the Second Division; in 2003-2004 and 2004-2005, with 119 and 132 points respectively.

The presentation of the trophy is taking place on 10th July as part of the RFEF General Assembly, in Ciudad del Fútbol de Las Rozas.
