Málaga CF returns to training today in the Athletics Stadium

Málaga CF players were back in training this Tuesday morning in the Ciudad de Málaga Athletics Stadium, following a day off yesterday. Goalkeeper Willy Caballero held a press conference before the session.

Team members who took part in last Sunday’s match in San Mamés had a less intensive session this morning.  Baptista and Buonanotte continue with their recovery from injury, whilst Eliseu exercised in the gym as he sustained a bruise to his right heel, and Toulalan is undergoing further tests today.  Reserve players, Pol, Jurado and Fabrice joined today’s session.

The team is back in training tomorrow morning at 10:30 in the Athletics Stadium.

Statements by Willy Caballero

"We’ve had a good start to the season, and have achieved some great results in important matches.  We need to keep working hard and continue to perform as well as we have been doing in recent games.  Despite everything that’s been said (in reference to the Zamora Cup, and returning to Argentina’s national team) we’ve still got a lot of hard work to do.  The team must keep performing as well as possible, playing good matches and achieving great results.  I hope I make the national team, though I’m not going to worry about it, as I need to keep focused on my job here.  I need to perform as well as I can, and everything else is a bonus.”

“Betis are a good team, and play well with the ball.  We need to concentrate on gaining the three points in this home match, regardless of the rival.  We know Betis have quality players who always perform well.  I hope we prepare well this week for Saturday’s regional derby.”

“It took us a bit longer to get going last season, whereas this year, we got off to a great start from the very first match, and have been improving ever since.  The most important thing now is to perform well in what will be a tough match against a difficult rival.”
