Málaga Club de Fútbol Advisor, Francisco Martín Aguilar, presented the President of the Black and White Association, Francis Jones Ezeileoba, with various aid materials to send to Africa as part of a charity project, commemorating World Anti-Racism Day.
The event took place this morning in La Rosaleda Stadium, Martín Aguilar stated that “Málaga wants to use this day to show how the initiative of sending aid to somewhere like Africa, highlights our fight against racism. The owners of this Club insist that through football, the whole world can bring an end to racism. We want equality amongst every race in the world, and to be a part of these events that are so important to modern society. This is the framework of UNESCO, which Málaga Club de Fútbol is in collaboration with”.
The Black and White Association is made up of a group of Fuengirola residents, from different countries, whose aim is to promote a greater understanding and create social harmony amongst the different nationalities and religions found on the Costa del Sol. Through artistic, cultural and sporting activities, the Association promotes friendship amongst people from different races, and the development of a project offering aid to Africa, for which Málaga CF has made a donation.
The Black and White Association has invited Málaga Club de Fútbol to accompany them at their next event, held in Fuengirola on the 20th April. A great international festival with musical performances from all over the world, and supported by the town hall to promote a better understanding of different cultures.
Málaga Club de Fútbol is already taking action in the fight against racism. Director General of UNESCO, Irina Bokova, when she introduced the agreement between Málaga Club de Fútbol and the UN department of Education, Science and Culture, stated “UNESCO and Málaga CF have agreed to unite to promote a message of peace amongst all the members of this organisation. Amongst other aims and values, this partnership will also make the desire to create a racism-free society, without any discrimination, and spread a message of peace, a reality”.
