Club Atlético Malagueño was sanctioned with the loss of three points for an alleged improper line-up during the match corresponding to matchday 17 of Third Division Group IX, against Melilla CD on 20th March 2021. The action prevented the reserve team from opting for the most beneficial route to achieving promotion to 2ª RFEF and impeded the player from participating with the team until the end of the season.
The Club appealed this sanction in the first instance to the RFAF Competition Committee and then to the RFEF Appeals Committee. Following the refusal from both bodies, the Entity took the appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport, in case number 298/2021, notified the Entity this Friday morning about the resolution regarding Málaga CF's request to revoke the Resolution of the Appeals Committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation of 4th May 2021. Consequently, it considers the declaration of improper alignment of the player not in accordance with the law and annuls the two resolutions of the federative bodies.
