Málaga CF joins the II Day of Fair Play

During Saturday’s match between Málaga CF and Real Betis, La Rosaleda will remember the importance of respect, decorum and sportsmanship in football, in celebration of the II Day of Fair Play in Spanish Football.

The team of referees, accompanied by three children, two wearing campaign shirts, the other in the usual ref strip, will symbolise the celebration of this special day, uniting all football representatives: League (LFP), Federation (RFEF), Referee Committee (CTA), Association of Coaches and United Fans (AFEPE), along with support from the Superior Sports Advisory Board (CSD), FIFA and UEFA.

The II Day of Fair Play forms part of the ongoing development of the National Agreement of the Implementation of Fair Play in Spanish Football, signed by all the above organisations on 1st February, such as the ‘final greeting’ between the players and referees which can now be seen at the end of every match.

This makes for a fitting end to a match, showing a mutual respect, allowing the players and referees to leave the pitch together, portraying a message of sportsmanship to the team, the rival and the referees.
