Málaga CF finishes fourth in ‘Isla’ Tournament in Guadalupe

La Academia’s ‘Cadete B’ team, in the ‘Liga Preferente’, finished in fourth place in the ‘Isla’ Tournament held in the Caribbean island, after being defeated by Borussia Dortmund by 1-0.

Juan Carlos Cuevas’s team performed well in the group stage.  They defeated the local team by 1-0, Caen by 2-1 and Guyane on penalties following a 2-2 draw at full time.  The La Academia team beat St. Etienne by 2-1 in the quarter final, to reach the semis against Grande Terre, to be defeated by 2-0.  The ‘Cadete’ team then went on to lose the third place decider match against Borussia Dortmund by 1-0.
