Málaga Club de Fútbol, via its Foundation, was present at the World Pre-Congress for the Rights of Children and Adolescents, at the Congress and Exhibitions Palace in the capital.
As a prelude to the VII World Congress for the Rights of Children and Adolescents taking place in Asunción (Paraguay) in November 2016, various presentations are being undertaken today and tomorrow, with a common theme: children of the world.
This Thursday afternoon, Málaga Club de Fútbol took part in the event, with representation headed up by Club adviser, Abdullah Ben Barek, and member of the MCF Foundation’s Social Department, Sebastián Fernández Reyes ‘Basti. The Malaguista presentation was given by the coordinator of the Foundation, Lucas Rodríguez, on the topic, ‘Blue and Whites’ Values from the Youth Academy’.
“It’s a project we’ve been working on in the Youth Academy, where there are some 600 children. They must be aware, both themselves and their parents, that only few players move up. We have the obligation and responsibility of offering an alternative,” comments Rodríguez, who also presented these Malaguista values based on helping to plan studies, offering a sporting education, training players, but above all, it’s about people, ultimately making a team like a family. Ben Barek also appeared before the audience, highlighting the happiness working with children brings.“I’ve been a player and coach with Málaga for many years, but later working with young people changed me and made me happier. The children are the future, and I particularly enjoy working with the younger kids.”
