Málaga CF, a team against gender violence

The Juan Cortés press room yesterday hosted a meeting with students from IES Rosaleda in which the Club expressed its loathing of gender violence. Ramalho, Águeda and Paula were the Malaguista players present.

For the Malaguistas, the International Day against Gender Violence began yesterday, 24th November at the Blue and White temple. The Entity decided to continue the campaign 'A team against gender violence' for another year, which was presented last year by the MCF Foundation at Marketing Week held at the Faculty of Commerce and Management of the University of Málaga. Despite the fact that the headquarters have changed this year, the objective is the same: to raise awareness of the importance of eradicating gender violence.

The Juan Cortés press room hosted the meeting between representatives of the Club and City Hall as well as IES Rosaleda students. Lucas Rodríguez, MCF Foundation coordinator chaired this entertaining and instructive talk in which Laura Robles and Almudena Ramos took part, advisers to the City Hall’s Department of Social Rights. The attendees had the invaluable presence of Protocol and Institutional Relations adviser, Paco Martín Aguilar, as well as Jonas Ramalho (MCF), Águeda (MCFF) and Paula (MCF Genuine), who shared their impressions and personal experiences.

Águeda commented on the contempt she has suffered throughout her career for being a woman. A student from IES Rosaleda subsequently said that she had to stop playing football for the same reason. “Today's initiative is very important to help people, especially women, to fulfil their dreams,” said the Malaguista player.  Augusto, a teacher at the school, urged “elite sports entities, which are the ones that have the greatest impact” promote this type of initiative. Whilst Ramalho added that “it’s very gratifying to take part in events like this. Equality in the world of football is crucial,” he stated.

It's always an honour for Málaga CF and the Foundation to be able to participate in such interesting dynamics for the young people of the province, enabling Blue and White Values to reach more people every day. Once again, the Malaguista Club wishes to express its hatred of gender violence. We are a team against gender violence!
