Málaga CF incorporates left-winger, Maxime Lestienne for the remainder of the current season. He arrives on a free transfer until the end of the 2017/18 campaign.
Explosion in Belgium
Maxime Christophe Lestienne was born on 17th June 1992 (25 years old) in Mouscron, Belgium. An explosive, technical, fast-paced footballer, who is preferable on the left wing. Following his development at Excelsior Mouscron, he signed to historic club, Brugge (2010-14), standing out in the Jupiler Pro League due to his goal-scoring and assisting ability. His stats were spectacular between the 2011/12 and 2013/14 campaigns, accumulating 35 goals and 31 assists in the league competition.
Italy, Holland and Russia
Lestienne transferred to Qatar club, Al-Arabi in the summer of 2014, from where he was loaned out to Italian outfit, Genoa (2014/15) and Dutch side, PSV Eindhoven (2015/16). Last season he signed to Rubin Kazan in the Russian Premier League, and over the last year and a half scored 6 goals and provided 3 assists in 28 games between the League and Cup.
International and achievements
He was an international with Belgium’s youth categories from the Under-15s to the Under-21s. Lestienne was proclaimed champion of the Eredivisie and Super Cup in Holland in the 2015/16 season. In addition, he has been runner-up of the Belgian league with Brugge twice (2009/10 and 2011/12).
