Larrubia reaches Round of 16 in U-17 World Cup

Spain defeated Cameroon yesterday in the final match of the U-17 World Cup group stage, and will face another African team, Senegal, in the Round of 16. Larrubia was in action.

Homegrown Malaguista, David Larrubia played his second match with David Gordo’s team in Brazil, participating in Spain’s 2-0 win against Cameroon with goals from Jordi Escobar and Ilaix Moriba. Both goals stemmed from assists from the talented Pedro, who was replaced by Larrubia in minute 68 of play.

The young ‘Rojita’ team finished the group stage as leaders of Group C with seven points, tied with Argentina, but winning on goal average. The rival in the Round of 16 of the tournament, Senegal, ended in second place of Group D.
