La Rosaleda will continue to enjoy Jozabed

After rescinding his contract with RC Celta, the midfielder begins a new cycle with the Club extending to the 22/23 season, with the option of another year.

The talented player, loaned out to Málaga CF from RC Celta de Vigo in the 20/21 season, has now signed a two-year contract plus the option of a further year.

Jozabed Sánchez Ruiz (Sevilla, 1991) completed his training as a player in the Sevilla FC youth ranks. After leaving the Sevilla reserve team, he started his journey in the present Liga SmartBank with SD Ponferradina and Real Jaén CF. In 2014 he signed to Rayo Vallecano, showing off his best football and goal-scoring skills in LaLiga 15/16, netting 10 goals in the elite with the Madrid-based outfit.

Since 2017, after a brief spell with English side, Fulham, Jozabed belonged to Celta de Vigo although he was loaned out to Girona FC and Málaga CF. ‘Joza’s’ performance continued to improve, highlighting his hierarchy and quality in midfield. In total, the creative midfielder has played 30 official matches with MCF; 29 in LaLiga SmartBank (1,480 minutes, 2 goals) and one Copa del Rey clash.

As well as his undisputed class on the pitch, Jozabed has stood out in the dressing room for his humility and simplicity, winning the love and respect of his teammates. The Malaguista Family, after the renovation of Chavarría and the return of Javi Jiménez, is once again in celebratory mode. ‘Joza’ stays!
