Five of Málaga CF’s seven-a-side teams in La Academia took part in two tournaments organised by ‘Malagueño’ clubs, Mortadelo and Portada Alta. The Blue and Whites’ teams were the champions in four categories, whilst the fifth lost out in the final.
Within the tournament organised by Mortadelo, Málaga CF’s 1ª Alevin A defeated the host ‘C’ team by 2-0, drew 1-1 against Motril and defeated Portada Alta by 1-0. In the semi-finals, they beat Mortadelo’s ‘A’ team by 6-0, and came up against Motril again in the final, who they defeated by 4-2. The 2ª Benjamin A team also took part in this tournament, and after beating Mortadelo C (5-0) and Motril (5-0) in the group stage, went on to win against Mortadelo A (6-0) and Mortadelo B in the final (4-1).
In the Portada Alta competition, three Málaga CF teams took part: 1ª Alevin A, 2ª Benjamin B and Prebenjamin. The youngest side defeated CD El Palo (1-0) and Portada Alta (4-0), the Benjamínes drew with Torremoya (2-2) and lost to Portada Alta (1-3), whilst the Alevines defeated Puerta Blanca (3-1) and host team, Portada Alta (4-2).
