Kuki – champion and highest goal-scorer of the ‘Miljan Miljanic’ Tournament

Málaga CF’s José Luis Zalazar, ‘Kuki’, and Spain’s under-16’s have been proclaimed champions of the international ‘Miljan Miljanic’ Tournament held in Serbia last weekend. The ‘Malaguista’ scored three goals and is the tournament’s highest scorer.

Spain’s under-16’s came up against Serbia, Italy and Montenegro.  During the debut match against the host team, ‘Kuki’ was part of the starting-11, with the game ending in a 0-0 draw.  Against Italy, the ‘Malaguista’ didn’t start the match, but turned the result around as he came on to the pitch, scoring Spain’s goal in the 1-1 draw.  In the last match against Montenegro, ‘Kuki’ scored two goals soon after kick off (in the 2nd and 8th minutes), with Spain winning by 0-6.

In total, the ‘Malaguista’ played 172 minutes in this tournament, scored three goals, and was named the highest scorer of the competition.

‘Kuki’ returns to Spain today and is back in training with the ‘Juvenil’ boys tomorrow, ahead of Sunday’s Copa del Rey semi-final against Real Madrid.
