Kilometre 35: Málaga-Valladolid

It was a historic day at La Rosaleda. A legend of Malaguismo, Pablo Adrián Guede made his coaching debut with a well-deserved draw against one of the most powerful teams in LaLiga SmartBank.

#MálagaRealValladolid leaves us several moments that we look at here in our kilometre. Here we go!

New coach, greater intensity

Since he became Málaga CF coach, Pablo Guede has boosted the team’s spirits, the fans and everyone involved with the Blue and Whites. The effect of the Spanish-Argentinean coach didn’t result in victory yesterday, but he did bring a breath of fresh air shown by the maximum fight and intensity over the 90 minutes in front of over 18,000 Malaguistas dedicated to the cause.

Brandon’s eighth and Vadillo’s debut goal

The Malaguista ‘pichichi’ scored his eighth goal so far this season. Brandon opened the scoring in minute 4 with a textbook counterattack. The 2-0 was the work of Vadillo in 49’, making the most of a mistake by the visitors to show his quality and net his first Blue and White goal.

Dani Martín’s superb reflections

Despite conceding two goals, the Asturian goalkeeper made numerous significant interventions during different stages of the game. The tireless attacking display by the rivals kept Dani Martín busy, and he became a crucial element in securing a valuable point. His saves were key.

+7 points in front

One more point, one match less. The defeats by Málaga CF’s rivals at the bottom of the table, particularly immediate followers Amorebieta and Real Sociedad B, give the lads a seven-point lead (over the aforementioned teams) with 21 still at stake this 21/22 season. A cushion of more than two matches to give us oxygen for the remainder of the competition.
