Kilometre 28: Rebellion at home to the leader

Málaga CF claimed an authoritative victory at the Ramón de Carranza last Sunday. Here are some of the stats.

Adrián again

The Malaguista captain put the team in front in minute 41, however the referee disallowed the goal due to a foul on the keeper. Yet if something’s meant to be…the number ‘8’ went on to score in minute 51 from the penalty spot. Adrián converted from the 11-metre mark following a foul on Tete to score the winning 0-1 goal. As such, the midfielder has now netted six goals so far this season, sealing another great scoring year. Last season he scored 10.

The captain’s goals are worth their weight in points

We’ve already said Adrián has scored six goals, but it should be noted that all of them have been key in the team winning points. He scored in the victories against Racing, Oviedo, Numancia and Cádiz and also in the draws with UD Las Palmas and CD Mirandés (14 points).

A piece of Málaga at the Carranza

Around 500 Blue and White fans populated the stands of the Cádiz stadium and played a key role in the important victory. After the final whistle, the players approached the Malaguistas to celebrate winning the three points together in another emotional show of unity.

End of the second third

Two thirds of the competition have now been completed. In the second stage, between matchdays 14 and 28, the Blue and Whites achieved four victories, eight draws and three defeats (20 points).
