Kilometre 20: Eibar-Málaga

It’s all about the sweet hangover this morning following last night’s game in Ipurua. Dani Lorenzo made the starting-11 for the first time, Hicham made his ‘debut’ with an assist, Brandon scored the equaliser making him Blue and White ‘pichichi’ as well as the fans’ unconditional support all over the country.

Quality point

Málaga CF broke SD Eibar’s seven consecutive game winning streak at home. José Alberto’s men took the lead, put on a great performance and came back from conceding two goals in the first half to go level and seek victory until the last second.

Dani Lorenzo’s first time in the starting-11

The Marbella-born midfielder made his debut in the Malaguista starting line-up, occupying the inside of the Málaga midfield and giving criteria to the game during his 71 minutes on the pitch at Ipurua. #EibarMálaga was his third game wearing the Blue and White jersey, after playing 35 and 36 minutes against Peña Sport, in the Copa del Rey, and Amorebieta, at La Rosaleda, respectively.

Hicham, decisive on his return

The first minutes of the season, some more than 20 in the final stages, for the Moroccan-born winger, who joined the game in place of Dani Lorenzo. Following his entrance, the team played a more vertical game with his continuous irruptions on the right wing. In one of them, he assisted Brandon to go level at 2-2.

Pichichi Brandon

With his valuable goal against Eibar, the Mallorcan striker takes his goal total to four, to become the top Malaguista scorer after beating Paulino, with whom he was tied at three before the start of the match. In addition to the one he scored against this rival, he also scored against Real Valladolid, Real Zaragoza and CD Tenerife.

Malaguistas without borders

Despite the distance separating Málaga from Eibar – 930 kilometres between La Rosaleda and Ipurua – and the climate, 20 straight days of rain in the Basque Country, the Blue and White fans are always present to support the team. Last night these brave Malaguistas spurred the lads on to a well-deserved draw. Thank you!
