The Malaguistas’ international duties came to an end last night, with Juanpi Añor scoring a goal for Venezuela, and along with Mikel Villanueva, they drew with Argentina.
In the early hours of the morning, the 8th South American qualifier took place for the 2018 Russia World Cup. In the Venezuela-Argentina (2-2) match, Juanpi shone and scored a superb goal (1-0, 35’) with a powerful cross into the net. Añor was in the starting line-up and played for 90 minutes, along with Mikel Villanuevain the ‘Vinotinto’ defence. Rosales, mean whilst, remained on the subs’ bench. Venezuela, bottom in the table, claimed their second point of the qualifiers.
Fede Ricca didn’t debutwith Uruguay’s first team. The Malaguista left-back was a substitute in the Uruguay-Paraguay match, which ended with a clear 4-0 win for Uruguay. The ‘celeste’ side lead the South American rankings with 16 points, one more than Brazil and Argentina, ahead of the World Cup in Russia.
