Juanmi extends contract with Málaga CF until 2017/18

Málaga Club de Fútbol and Juan Miguel Jiménez López ‘Juanmi’ (Coín, 20/05/1993) have reached an agreement for the Málaga-born player to remain with the Blue and Whites for another three seasons. Juanmi made his first team debut in 2009/10 at just 16 years of age, and despite being so young, is now in his sixth year with the ‘Malaguista’ first team.

Juanmi debuted in Getafe at just 16 years old in a Copa del Rey match on 13th January 2010.  During this match, Juanmi scored a goal, making him the youngest player in history to score during a debut match wearing the Blue and Whites’ shirt.
The following season, Juanmi broke another record.  Scoring twice against Real Zaragoza at La Romareda made him the youngest player to score two goals in a First Division game, aged just 17 years and four months.  This year the 21 year-old will have been with the Blue and Whites for five and a half seasons, following a brief loan period with Racing de Santander in 2012/13, where he scored 13 goals.

National team
Juanmi has represented Spain in the under-16’s, under-17’s and under-19’s.  He also won the under-19’s European Championships twice with Spain.
