International weekend for Málaga CF Femenino

María Ruiz and Pamela González are with Spain’s U-19s and the Uruguay national team respectively and will return to training with the Blue and Whites this week.

During this FIFA break, in which there has been no Reto Iberdrola matchday, Málaga CF Femenino players María Ruiz and Pamela González are currently on international duty with Spain’s Under-19s and Uruguay’s national team respectively. Here’s a summary of last weekend’s action without regular competition, but with matches for these Malaguista players.

María Ruiz accumulates minutes wearing the national team jersey

The Malagueña forward has already scored a total of three goals in the Qualifying Round Pedro López’s girls are competing in in Iceland. After a big 14-0 win against Kazakhstan in the first match, the Under-19s defeated Greece by 5-0 in the second match.

The player from Almáchar stepped on to the pitch in the second half of the game and in 56’ scored the 3-0 for the Spanish side.

The next and final match in this tournament is taking place on Tuesday 8th October against host team, Iceland. Once this round is over, the Malaguista will head back to the Costa del Sol.

Pamela González, Uruguay captain

The Blue and White midfielder wore the captain’s armband with the Uruguay national team in the first friendly held against Chile. Uruguay were defeated 3-0 and will return to face ‘La Roja’ tomorrow, Tuesday 8th in another friendly game.
