Impressive premiere of ‘Malaguistas with La Roja’

The Club, via its Foundation, has inaugurated a new showcase dedicated to the 12 players who, as Malaguistas, were part of the Spanish National Football team.

The event, coinciding with the celebration of the Spain-Costa Rica match on Saturday (21:30, La Rosaleda) was held today at the MCF Museum&Tour at La Rosaleda stadium, where the exhibition is located. Member of the MCF Foundation’s Social Department, Basti made an opening speech, and there was great representation from the Club and Málaga institutions, with an exceptional star: Pedro ‘Koke’ Contreras, ex Blue and Whites’ keeper and Spain international during his time with MCF, who was present at the event.

“The word is pride, for defending this jersey and this shield. It was also great and very special to play for the national team whilst with Málaga CF. I have very much to thank the team and the city of Málaga for. Thanks to them, I was able to express myself as a footballer as best I could and as best I knew. Fruit of that was receiving the call from the national team to compete in the World Cup and having the chance to debut. It’s a mix of very special feelings”.

The showcase is part of the Malaguista museum tour and includes, as well as a striking replica of the World Cup, the national team kits of the 12 players who whilst with Málaga competed with Spain.
