“I’m 100 percent committed to this shield”

Luis Muñoz held a press conference today at La Rosaleda. “I focus on fighting every day to improve and turn the situation around,” said the Blue and White midfielder.

“I want to apologise to everyone, because I made a mistake that cannot be made as a captain. I'm not insulting anyone, but the referees make decisions. This will not happen again. The focus is on Zaragoza and moving forward,” Luis initially stated, going on to add that: “I wanted to speak out to express my feelings. It was an error that I cannot make, even more so in the situation we’re in. These things cannot happen, but I’m 100 percent committed to this club and this shield.”

On a personal level: “I feel good. I missed almost a whole year and I have to pick up the pace. I'm fine, but things aren't going the way I'd like. I’m working on improving day by day and giving the best of myself,” the team captain added.

“I focus on fighting every day to improve and turn the situation around. When you win, everything flows better. In football and in life you have to get up, move forward and we must think about Zaragoza to turn the situation around,” said the number '8', still upset by the expulsion against Albacete: “I’m the first one to be angry. It’s normal for Pellicer to be annoyed, he has a lot of trust in me. I want to apologise to the coaching team as because of this action, the team suffered. It won’t happen again and I’m the first one to regret it.”

His commitment is non-negotiable. “I am 100 percent professional, even though I am capable of making a mistake like last week. My commitment is 100 percent with the club. When things don't work out, you also have to accept what people say. I can’t allow the pressure to beat me, but we are in such a tough situation at the club in my city. I’m the first one to go over things a thousand times, I talk to my family, friends, everyone around me… Until I’m no longer here, I’m going to fight and give 100 percent,” he stressed.

Luis Muñoz went on to say: “We know this is a difficult situation, but wherever there’s hope we have to focus on ourselves. We need to win the three points each time, and as the captains say, as long as there’s hope we have to fight for it.”

In regard to the fans: “I’d like to thank the fans, they always support us. May they continue doing so until the end. The players are going to keep fighting and we know how important the fans are. It’s also more difficult for the rivals when our fans are behind us. We’re going to fight every second and every minute, and we thank them for everything they do for us,” concluded the versatile Blue and White player.
