The player underwent surgery yesterday to reconstruct the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee at Hospital Vithas Málaga. The operation, carried out by traumatologist Alejandro Espejo and supervised by Malaguista doctor Pablo Campos, was a success.
Haitam Abaida suffered a tear to the internal meniscus and anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee on 16th November. The injury occurred during training.
The footballer underwent surgery yesterday at Hospital Vithas Málaga by Dr Alejandro Espejo, traumatologist and surgeon, accompanied by Dr Pablo Campos, head of the Club's medical services. The intervention, which consisted of a reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament using the quadriceps tendon with lateral reinforcement plus a meniscal suture, was deemed a success by doctors and Haitam is currently resting in hospital.
Following a two-week period without supporting or flexing, the player will undergo rehabilitation at the MCF facilities as he begins his recovery.
