Victory for Málaga Femenino against CD Salamanca in their league debut. The Blue and Whites secured a 1-2 victory at the C.M. Vicente del Bosque against a Salamanca that became somewhat deflated during play.
After a tough year, the Malaguista squad came out in front of their fans determined to improve on last season’s results. And it wasn’t easy. Málaga gave their all and came from behind to win, despite the uphill struggle. Salamanca, with David Rodríguez aka ‘Puma’ at the helm, scored their one and only goal in minute 20 following an oversight within the Blue and White defence. Lucía Bermejo (10) made the most of the confusion between María Arrabal and Ruth, which left the ball unattended in the area and allowed the winger to put her team in front, with María Arrabal unable to prevent the ball from hitting the target.
After the goal, Málaga Femenino took a step forward and following the water break, the girls gave their best performance of the game. They piled the pressure on and turned the result around with two goals fromTorralvo (9). The first goal (38’) was preceded by a lateral cross that Marina (2) managed to get past the far post. The player from Cártama left the ball in the heart of the area to allow Torralvo (9) to score the first Blue and White goal. Two minutes later (40’), the Malaguistas recovered possession thanks to Futu (11) who filtered the ball between the Salamanca defence. A masterful kick from Torralvo then led to the winning goal for Málaga CF Femenino.
There were no goals in the second half. Málaga strengthened the team by bringing on Tati (20), Bertuchi (17), Carmen Gómez (12), Claudia (25) and Silvia Mérida (18); and maintained possession, generating further goal opportunities.
The team claimed their first three points in the 2021/22 season debut in Primera Nacional. Ayala’s team will fight to stay at the top of the standings in order to reach their new objectives.
