Carol Glez’s journey in the World Beach Games in Qatar has come to an end in the best possible way, with a gold medal win for the Blue and White forward in the beach soccer final.
Spain defeated Team GB by 2-3 in the final. Team GB took the lead in minute 6, but Spain went on to victory with goals from Lorena and Carmen.
On the road to the final Spain faced Mexico, Cape Verde, Brazil and Russia. Carol has been a constant in the starting line-up and the Malaguista returns to the Costa del Sol with five goals in the bag. As such, Team Spain and Carol have added a touch of gold to women’s sport.
