The alternative report from #GironaMálaga leaves us four standout moments and our fourth away win of the campaign.

Third time lucky

Málaga CF have played twice at Montilivi and came back empty handed both times with the same adverse result, 1-0. These precedents date back to last season, in the Second Division, and in 2017-18 in the top-flight of Spanish football.

Joaquín Muñoz debuts in starting line-up

The winger from Miraflores formed part of the starting-11 for the first time, occupying the right flank of the Malaguista attack. He worked hard and showed his quality as a player during the 74 minutes he was on the pitch.

Escassi’s first goal

He showed his power in aerial play that he dominated so well, scoring his first goal wearing the Malaguista jersey. It was the 32nd minute of play when he headed the ball into the net from a corner on the left by Yanis Rahmani. Turned out to be the winning goal.

Victory for Manolo Sánchez

The second time the Malaguista second coach was in the dugout, as Sergio Pellicer fulfilled the second of his two-match ban. It couldn’t have gone better. A win with his own stamp, a goal from a set piece, an aspect he studies and dominates.

Fourth away win

Castellón, Zaragoza, Sabadell and Girona. These are where the Malaguistas have been victorious up to now. Adding the draw against Ponferradina, accumulating a total of 13 points from eight away games, the Blue and Whites are the second best visiting team in LaLiga SmartBank.
