Gema defines a close duel in Valencia (1-0)

Málaga CF Femenino lost out to Levante UD ‘B’ away from home on matchday 15 of Segunda Federación Grupo Sur.

The last match of the first round of the competition for Juanma Gómez’s team, who opted for the following starting-11: Encarni, Ruth ©, Mérida, Yoli Peche; Farfán, Tati, María Cortés, Marilén; Futu and Monterroso.

Carmen Gómez, Olmedo and Nazaret also played, along with reserve team members Marta Arias and Sofía, the latter making her official first team debut.

The first half was very even, with opportunities for both sides, but without success in front of goal.

Levante UD’s reserve team, third in the table behind leaders Madrid CFF ‘B’ and Balears FC, made the most of their chance in the second half to seal the result. Local player Gema in 59’ surpassed Andrea to put her team 1-0 up.

MCFF didn’t give up and sought an equaliser until the end, enjoying two very clear chances thanks to Luisa Olmeda and Sofía, but it wasn’t to be. A setback that moves the options of fighting for the top two places to get to the Primera Federación further away.

Next Sunday the Malaguistas will host CD Pozoalbense on league matchday 16 at the Francisco Romero ground in Rincón de la Victoria.
