Frigiliana ‘Malaguistas to the Core’ at La Rosaleda

Frigiliana, as its tourist slogan says, once again brought 'the light of Andalucía' to La Rosaleda on Sunday on its second visit as 'Malaguistas to the Core'.

More than 200 residents of the beautiful Axarquía municipality travelled the almost 60 kilometres in five coaches to reach the Blue and White stadium, where they were protagonists in #MálagaCartagena.

The expedition from Frigiliana, led by its mayor Alejandro Herrero, enjoyed an unforgettable afternoon from the run-up to play, occupying their seats in the upper corner between Fondo Norte and Tribuna. The Axarquía residents cheered on the team from the warm-up, in which a promotional advert was shown, featuring an endless number of attractions in the picturesque white town, nestled in the Parque Natural de las Sierras Tejeda, Almijara and Alhama. In the video you could see the cobbled streets, the old town of Moorish-Mudejar origin, the Santa Fiora Botanical Garden and many other attractions, such as its gastronomy.

The delicious native products of Frigiliana were showcased in the personalised stand on the first floor of Tribuna’s VIP Area and could be tasted by the fans who passed by.

The residents of the Axarquía municipality also took part, along with all of La Rosaleda, in the spectacular Blue and White mosaic just as the players stepped onto the pitch, holding hands with the members of the Frigiliana Municipal Football School, completing the pre-match 'Escort Kids’ initiative.

#MálagaCartagena, in which Pellicer’s team won 1-0, was the second game in which Frigiliana participated in the Blue and White campaign to promote the municipalities and towns of the province. On their first visit to La Rosaleda, in October 2021 during the debut of 'Malaguistas to the Core’, they also witnessed a local win by 1-0 against CF Fuenlabrada.

The Axarquía town boasts a great relationship with the Martiricos Entity. Frigiliana is the main sponsor of the MCF Foundation’s Supercapacitad@s Football School, it was one of the venues of the MCF Camp during Semana Blanca, and the students of CEIP Enrique Ginés received their training in 'Blue and White Values' this season.
