Femenino claim a golden point in Granada (1-1)

The Blue and Whites came back from an adverse result in the 90th minute with a goal from Adriana, who debuted with the team having recovered from a cruciate injury.

Málaga CF Femenino drew 1-1 against Granada CF Femenino in the match corresponding to the third league clash of Segunda División Nacional Group IV.

Málaga stepped on to the pitch at the Estadio de la Juventud with clear ideas. Against the Blue and Whites, Granada Femenino were hoping to claim first place in the table. During the initial stages of play, both teams shared possession equally, and play remained intense. In the 15th minute, Oviedo tried her luck for the locals, but came up against Chelsea who cleared the ball without any problems.

The match continued to develop cleanly, with few chances for either side due to the imposing defensive displays. With five minutes to go until the half-time whistle. Adriana launched the ball from a free kick, but the Red and Whites’ keeper saved the ball. Two minutes later, thanks to a perfectly positioned ball from Paula from the corner flag, Raquel had the 0-1 at her head, but the shot escaped by a few millimetres over the crossbar. At half-time, the scoreboard remained at 0-0, following a hard-fought and intense first half between Granada Femenino – Málaga Femenino.

In the second half, Contreras made some changes to the Malaguista line-up, replacing the recently incorporated Karina with Sheila. No sooner had she joined the game, she generated the first goal opportunity and warned the Red and Whites of her intentions. The Malaguistas took a step forward in intensity and dominated the ball. In minute 63, a header from Sheila passed through the Granada defence, but the ball escaped past the back line. In the final stretch of play, the Blue and Whites’ coach brought on Janira to substitute Pamela, and María Ruíz in place of Paula. Despite numerous saves by Chelsea, María Coronel scored the 1-0 in minute 89.

However, it wasn’t over. A minute later, the referee called a foul in Málaga’s favour. Adriana, who was making her debut with the Blue and Whites, launched the ball into the back of the net from a free kick to seal a 1-1 final result.
