There were a number of changes to Málaga Club de Fútbol’s line-up for this match at the Nib Stadium, compared to the previous game in Adelaide.  Rosales, Angeleri, Pablo Pérez, Juanpi and Luis Alberto all made Javi Gracia’s starting-11, and as with the first match, the coach saw that almost every player got the chance to take part in this Australian tour.
Perth Glory FC kicked off with good momentum, on a pitch that wasn’t in the best of conditions.  Málaga CF also started off well, with Kameni putting on a good performance for the little work he had to do on the pitch.  Little by little the ‘Malaguistas’ came closer to opening the scoring.  Luis Alberto and Antunes both tried their luck from free kicks, but didn’t find the net.  Horta gained possession and came close to a goal but the ball hit the post, whilst two headers towards goal from Roque, narrowly missed the target.
Málaga CF took the lead after 31 minutes thanks to Ricardo Horta.  The Portuguese-born player smashed the ball into the back of the net from in front of the goal, putting the Blue and Whites 0-1 up.  The score remained the same at half-time.
As he did in Adelaide, coach, Javi Gracia selected a new team for the second half, leaving just Angeleri on from the start.  Keogh equalised for Perth soon into the half following an impressive display by the local side.
With the scoreboard at 1-1, the match became more difficult, and the condition of the pitch worsened.  Following a fantastic pass from Duda, Juanmi could have put the Blue and Whites back in front, but luck wasn’t on his side.  The rival also came close to scoring following a counter-attack and a corner kick, which were stopped by Sergio Sánchez and Cousillas respectively.  Duda tried to score the goal of the match from midfield, but he sent the ball way over the crossbar.
Málaga Club de Fútbol performed well in the LFP World Challenge Tour in Australia.  The group will begin the journey back to Málaga tomorrow, Monday at 6 a.m.
