Blue and Whites’ defender, Bakary Koné debuted in the Africa Cup yesterday, playing a starring role in Burkina Faso’s draw with Cameroon.
Koné, in the starting line-up in central defence wearing the number ‘4’ shirt, played the 90 minutes of the Burkina Faso – Cameroon draw (1-1). Cameroon took the lead in the first half thanks to a goal byMoukandjo, and in the final stage of the game, Dayo equalised for Burkina Faso, with a header assist from Bakary Koné.
Therefore, following the draw in the first match of the African tournament between Gabon and Guinea-Bissau (1-1), all four countries in Group A in the Africa Cup are level with one point.
Next Wednesday 18th, at 17:00, Koné’s Burkina Faso will face host team, Gabon, coached by José Antonio Camacho, and with striker, Aubameyang as the big star.
